Get Healthy for Spring & Summer

Are you fearing the moment of having to step out of your comfortable sweat pants and hoodie into a bikini?
Worry no longer! In this post I intend share my easy tips and advice on how to get fit in preparation for the Summer time - because sometimes just you need that feeling of accomplishment to provide you with the confidence and ability to break out of your shell so you can work that swim-suit! I hope my tips are somewhat helpful, please leave your comments below to let me know your views!
**(Disclaimer: I am not telling anyone they have to be a certain size in order to be beautiful, everyone is beautiful regardless of their size, my tips are purely based on the way I prepare my body for swim-suit-season.)**

Diet:

The word ''diet'' seems to have suffered severe semantic change - it's old and original meaning being
''the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.'' (which happens to be the one we're going to abide by). -it has progressed to ''restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight.'' which is the modern interpretation of the word, as it can cause health issues and certainly will not make you fit and healthy.

1. My first tip is to completely avoid fizzy-carbonated-sugary drinks such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi etc -including ''Diet'' alternatives since they extremely bad for your teeth, body, and overall health. They produce the sensation of thirst due to the amount of sugary chemicals within them - causing you increase your intake of them - working almost like an addictive substance mainly because of the caffeine compressed it.
Instead switch to water, as it keeps you hydrated, your skin glowing and overall has a positive impact on your health. Another alternative is tea; you can go for normal tea (preferably without sweetners or sugar) or you can chose raspberry or green tea which is extremely effective in the process of digestion. Tea in general is proven to work herbal wonders.

Green Tea2. Substitute your typical chocolate bars and crisps for fresh fruit and yoghurt as consist of tons of vitamins and mineral goodness that are helpful towards your skin and speed up the digestion process which can increase your metabolic rate - however do not be fooled by the idea that you can consume as much fruit as you like, as fruit contains natural sugars that can be equally as harmful if consumed in excess - so try sensible ammounts. (The 5 a day rule should be followed).

3. EAT BREAKFAST! This is definitely going to sound cliche, but breakfast is in fact in the most important meal of the day, as it provides you with the energy you need progress throughout the day. Familiarising your body to eating breakfast every day will also impact your body clock as well as keeping you satisfied until lunch time!

4. Eat 3-4 meals a day, eat regularly but sensibly, make sure your portion sizes are sensible, not too big and not too small, but make sure each meal is rich in fibre, protein and vitamins to enable you to  gain muscle burn off the un-necessary calories.

5. Treat yourself once in a while! Every body deserves a treat once in a while, so make sure you reward yourself with your favourite snack (once a week would be appropriate) but avoid binge-eating as it can destroy the results. Rewarding yourself will give you the sense of satisfaction which will motivate you to keep going!

Exercise:
Exercise releases the same endorphins as eating chocolate, so instead of pleasing yourself with a chocolate bar or any other guilty pleasure snacks, run a mile!
It should be done regularly and in moderation and with the right diet it can provide rapid results and give you tons of confidence, but remember not to strain your body as it could have a very harmful impact health-wise.
Don't worry if you don't have a Gym Membership there are things you can do without any equipment, but a Gym membership would come in handy.

1. Cycling/Skipping/Running/Jogging, are some of the best ways of getting fit as they ensure the efficient flow of blood and oxygen throughout the body, and work your legs and stomach.

2. Swimming is one of the most ways to get healthy, as it is constantly burning calories, (although chlorine in your hair can be quite displeasing, so be sure to invest in a swimming cap).

3. Fitness videos can provide you with the tips you need in order to lose weight in the comfort of your home! Cassey from Blogilates is especially good, she has her own blog and youtube channel and  she is basically like your personal pocket trainer as you can access her on your phone.

4. Join a gymAs mentioned before, this isn't a compulsary step-to-success but it likely to speed up the process of weight loss, as it will expose you to the ammount of physical activity you should be doing. Try to go every morning - if possible, but a minimum of twice a week is bound to give you good results. Most gym's have on-going classes that you can go to throughout the day - these are usually free-of-cost and can be extremely fun! Yoga, Spinning and Aqua-robics classes are especially good in my opinion.

5. Walk to School/Work - if you live a sensible distance from your school/work-place then avoid getting the bus/taxi/car as it can save money and simultaenously be a good form of exercise!

I hope this post was somewhat helpful and please let me know what you think in the comments below and I am by no-means a professional.
