Small Haul! Zara, TKMaxx, Superdrug etc

This is a really teeny-weeny-tiny, small haul, as I went shopping on Saturday with the intention of buying more things so I could haul them all in a video. However there wasn't really a lot of things that appealed to me as such, but the things that did appeal to me; I will be showing and briefly reviewing in this blog post.
I won't be hauling these products in a video any time soon, as I don't think there's enough for a video, but you can expect to see them in upcoming lookbook or make-up tutorial! Instead of blabbing and boring you all, I think I should just get started.

So, the first place I went to was TKMaxx as it is such a wonderful place filled with hidden gems and wonders - from bits of high-end make-up to the most unique clothing pieces.
I only bought one item from there, but it's definitely my favourite of them all...
I've been looking for something like this for a long time, and I've been eye-ing it up online retailing for approximately ten times the price I paid.

It's just a beautiful little white cami with daisy lining. I bought it in a size medium so that I can wear it over a black bikini in the summer or perhaps even a Tiffany blue coloured one, either way I think it will look lovely with tanned skin and it'll be great for Summer as it is sheer and light-weight.

This little beauty only cost me £9.99 which is such a steal, and I think I might have to go back to TKMaxx for the black version of this too...

The next place I went to is Zara, I love Zara because it sells good-quality basic pieces at affordable prices. Their pieces are very minimalistic and pretty, but during this trip nothing really caught my eye - and if it did, it wasn't available in my size.

I did try on two pairs of jeans though, the first pair was a light wash denim, however as soon as I put them on, I realised that they were flared - and if you know me, you know I will not wear flared jeans. The next pair however, were lovely and fit beautifully, but they unfortunately had a faulty zip, and it just-so happen to be the very last pair in my size. So I had to make do without any jeans.. :( sad face, I shouldn't be complaining, considering I own a rather embarassing ammount of jeans - since they're practically all I wear.

The only thing I did buy from Zara is this really soft grey t-shirt.

Suprisingly, I didn't have a plain grey t-shirt, so I thought this was the right time to buy one.
I also bought this in a Medium, so that it could be more loose-fitting.. I happen to do this often with t-shirts and tops, because I don't particularly like being suffocated. It does have a sort-of high-low hemline, but it's just a staple piece of clothing that is needed in every girls' closet. I think the best way of wearing these is with a pair of skin-tight jeans and a flannel tied arround your waist. I can't remember the price of this, but I'm sure that it was very in-expensive.

I actually intended to go to Primark for socks, because I find that I lose them very quickly.
Luckilly, Primark offer a wide range of them for prices cheap as chips. So instead of paying the outrageous ammounts that I often pay for Topshop socks (which I end up losing, before I even get to wear them) I opted for Primarni to deck me out with some snazzy socks. (Not really, they're solid pink-toned colours, not Typical Nessa or anything). These were only £2.50 for 7 PAIRS OF SOCKS!

*I only wear bright coloured socks arround the house, or to the gym*

For the make-up bits, I decided to just get the things that I really, really wanted, considering I have so much of it, and I still need to find a cute way of storing it all...
I ended up buying two MUA Eyeshadow Palletes (if you know me, you know I'm a sucker for MUA), also a concealer, and a Revlon Lip butter.

The first pallette is the MUA - Heaven and Earth. It consists of brown, earthy tones, with a few hints of gold and champagne. These shadows are very shimmery and pigmented and they are quite neutral, so they can be worn on an every-day basis.

The next pallette I bought is the MUA - Matte. It also has very neutral every-day shades - but combined with the colours from the Heaven and Earth pallette, they have the potential of creating a gorgeous smokey-eye. My favourite shades are the dark brown and the pale pink.

If you would like me to review these pallettes in a seperate post or video, please let me know as I'd be more than happy to do that; including swatches.

Another thing I bought with the intention is the NYC concealer, I was basically in desperate need of a new concealer, since my favourite has been discontinued, so I opted for one of the cheapest solutions, resulting in my disappointment. I'm not a huge fan of this concealer, it doesn't do anything special for me, and it feels quite heavy on my skin and doesn't really give good coverage. I don't recommend this product at all, If I'm being honest. So I might just have to use it as an eye-shadow base.
If you have any recommendations for a good concealer, please let me know!

Last, but certainly not least; I bought a Revlon lip butter in the shade ''Sugar Frosting''.
I've tried these before and I absolutely love them.
I was in need of a sheer/light lip colour, as most of my lip products are brightly coloured. I really like how this lip butter feels on my lips, since it is so moisturizing.
It has quite sheer pigmentation, so it only gives my lips a slight tint, which I must say; I do like, and I think it will be great for Spring and Summer as it is quite long lasting!

I did also buy a pair of shoes and some underwear, but I'm NOT going to show you those..
That being said, I appologize for this being so short and for not uploading a video last week!
You can expect a video during the weekend, but yeah I guess that's it! Leave me suggestions for future posts and videos in the comments, or simply use my links to follow my social media and become my friend!

Music Playlist!

Music is one of my favourite things about life, in itself it is basically life.

It can be used as a way to escape reality and can teach to just focus on the positive aspects in your life.

Predominately, I think the type of Music someone is into tells you a lot about their person, not in a stereotypical way, but good songs tend to describe what kind of person someone is.

I think that sharing some of my favourite songs with you guys will not only give you insight about some really good music, but I think it will also help you to find out more about me!

These are just my Top 10 songs that I have accumulated over the past and that I love dearly.

Oh my sugar cookie, twinkled little specks of fairy dust.
I absolutely love this song, it's so nice and calming, and perfect for those times were you just want to reflect on life with your earphones in.

The Neighbourhood have a small variety of incredible songs, I would also recommend Flawless and Female Robbery, they're all such wonderful songs and they are definitely becoming one of my favourite bands.

This is one of my favourite songs from the whole AM album along with: ''Do I Wanna Know?'' and ''R U Mine?'' The Arctic Monkeys are such a wonderful bunch, despite the ever-so-slightly arrogant acceptance speech at the Brits by the one and only Alex Turner! (It did make me laugh though), and there's no denying that the speech was very witty and intriguing. On that note, they never seem to disappoint with the music they produce.

This song is just one of my all time favourites, and it's definitely a song that will NEVER get old! Hands down, my favourite ''The Killers'' song.

I only recently discovered this band but I guess these boys are just over-all lovely, but this song is so catchy and upbeat! They definitely deserve more recognition! It really gets me in the mood for Spring and Summer!

Vampire Weekend are one of my favourite bands in the whole wide world! This song comes from the album ''Contra'' and it's so catchy and it sounds very beachy and cool. It seems that VW are just incapable of creating a bad song, it's just a shame that they're so unfortunately underrated.

Although Matty's voice can sometimes be very unclear - the vibe and the overall sound of the music ''The 1975'' create is undeniably fantastic. They're very alternative but simultaneously brilliant.  I definitely recommend them!

You have probably heard this - since it is such a common advert-song, but it's also such a great song, it's very upbeat, and it automatically puts me in a good mood! The lyrics are very uplifting and fun, the song ''Believer'' is also very cool.

If you have seen the movie ''Angus thongs and perfect snogging'' then I'm sure you'll agree that this song is just addictive! Since 2008-forever! It's one of those songs that will just never get old. The Stiff Dylans should definitely start making music again too - ''Ever fallen in love'' is also a great song.

This song is very short, but it will always have a space inside my heart since it is so absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The Kooks will always remain one of my very favourite bands, they're soooooooooo calming and relaxing! There isn't a song that I don't enjoy by The Kooks.

Last but not least, this song is so powerful and beautiful, it never fails to make me cry! Definitely one of my all-time-favourites.

YOUTUBE VIDEOS???

I'm so excited to be writing this post, and although I do not have many readers on this blog, I figured it would be great to expand my little blog into a real-life Channel in the Youtube World!

I'm willing to take suggestions for videos which I should make, I'm currently debating on what to make for my first video, but I figured that the best type of video would be a Q&A or some sort Tag since it will give you guys some background information about me... but please let me know what you would like to see!

The camera that I will be using will be the Canon 600D/Rebl T3i - which I received from my Dad as a gift.
The quality is looking quite good at the moment, but I'm still getting used to it, and I don't even care to admit that it did in fact take me 10 minutes alone to figure out how to take a basic picture... but I'm getting better as we speak.

My videos will be mainly about Fashion and Beauty, but I will also be doing Tags with my friends, DIY's, Lookbooks and perhaps even some Cooking/Baking videos!

Thank you for reading, please leave any feedback down below..

Get Healthy for Spring & Summer

Are you fearing the moment of having to step out of your comfortable sweat pants and hoodie into a bikini?
Worry no longer! In this post I intend share my easy tips and advice on how to get fit in preparation for the Summer time - because sometimes just you need that feeling of accomplishment to provide you with the confidence and ability to break out of your shell so you can work that swim-suit! I hope my tips are somewhat helpful, please leave your comments below to let me know your views!
**(Disclaimer: I am not telling anyone they have to be a certain size in order to be beautiful, everyone is beautiful regardless of their size, my tips are purely based on the way I prepare my body for swim-suit-season.)**

Diet:

The word ''diet'' seems to have suffered severe semantic change - it's old and original meaning being
''the kinds of food that a person, animal, or community habitually eats.'' (which happens to be the one we're going to abide by). -it has progressed to ''restrict oneself to small amounts or special kinds of food in order to lose weight.'' which is the modern interpretation of the word, as it can cause health issues and certainly will not make you fit and healthy.

1. My first tip is to completely avoid fizzy-carbonated-sugary drinks such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi etc -including ''Diet'' alternatives since they extremely bad for your teeth, body, and overall health. They produce the sensation of thirst due to the amount of sugary chemicals within them - causing you increase your intake of them - working almost like an addictive substance mainly because of the caffeine compressed it.
Instead switch to water, as it keeps you hydrated, your skin glowing and overall has a positive impact on your health. Another alternative is tea; you can go for normal tea (preferably without sweetners or sugar) or you can chose raspberry or green tea which is extremely effective in the process of digestion. Tea in general is proven to work herbal wonders.

Green Tea2. Substitute your typical chocolate bars and crisps for fresh fruit and yoghurt as consist of tons of vitamins and mineral goodness that are helpful towards your skin and speed up the digestion process which can increase your metabolic rate - however do not be fooled by the idea that you can consume as much fruit as you like, as fruit contains natural sugars that can be equally as harmful if consumed in excess - so try sensible ammounts. (The 5 a day rule should be followed).

3. EAT BREAKFAST! This is definitely going to sound cliche, but breakfast is in fact in the most important meal of the day, as it provides you with the energy you need progress throughout the day. Familiarising your body to eating breakfast every day will also impact your body clock as well as keeping you satisfied until lunch time!

4. Eat 3-4 meals a day, eat regularly but sensibly, make sure your portion sizes are sensible, not too big and not too small, but make sure each meal is rich in fibre, protein and vitamins to enable you to  gain muscle burn off the un-necessary calories.

5. Treat yourself once in a while! Every body deserves a treat once in a while, so make sure you reward yourself with your favourite snack (once a week would be appropriate) but avoid binge-eating as it can destroy the results. Rewarding yourself will give you the sense of satisfaction which will motivate you to keep going!

Exercise:
Exercise releases the same endorphins as eating chocolate, so instead of pleasing yourself with a chocolate bar or any other guilty pleasure snacks, run a mile!
It should be done regularly and in moderation and with the right diet it can provide rapid results and give you tons of confidence, but remember not to strain your body as it could have a very harmful impact health-wise.
Don't worry if you don't have a Gym Membership there are things you can do without any equipment, but a Gym membership would come in handy.

1. Cycling/Skipping/Running/Jogging, are some of the best ways of getting fit as they ensure the efficient flow of blood and oxygen throughout the body, and work your legs and stomach.

2. Swimming is one of the most ways to get healthy, as it is constantly burning calories, (although chlorine in your hair can be quite displeasing, so be sure to invest in a swimming cap).

3. Fitness videos can provide you with the tips you need in order to lose weight in the comfort of your home! Cassey from Blogilates is especially good, she has her own blog and youtube channel and  she is basically like your personal pocket trainer as you can access her on your phone.

4. Join a gymAs mentioned before, this isn't a compulsary step-to-success but it likely to speed up the process of weight loss, as it will expose you to the ammount of physical activity you should be doing. Try to go every morning - if possible, but a minimum of twice a week is bound to give you good results. Most gym's have on-going classes that you can go to throughout the day - these are usually free-of-cost and can be extremely fun! Yoga, Spinning and Aqua-robics classes are especially good in my opinion.

5. Walk to School/Work - if you live a sensible distance from your school/work-place then avoid getting the bus/taxi/car as it can save money and simultaenously be a good form of exercise!

I hope this post was somewhat helpful and please let me know what you think in the comments below and I am by no-means a professional.

Thank you for reading!

About Me

My name is Nessa and I am 15 years old from Manchester, I'm currently in Year 10 so I have a lot of exams and revision, so it will be quite difficult to keep up with my blog as well as the ridiculous ammounts of school work - but I am determined to make it work!

I enjoy Fashion, Beauty, Music, Books, Movies and Cupcakes. I love to write and read books, especially lovey-dovey romances by the likes of John Green, Nicholas Sparks and Classical writers such as Jane Austen and the Bronte Sisters. Chick Flicks and Fluffy socks make life worth living.

I love travelling and exploring different Cultures and Fashion, Paris is my favourite place to visit due to the huge variety of different shops/boutiques/cafe's and the atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. In the future I hope to be able to work within the fashion industry allowing me to travel the world and do what I enjoy.

I would describe my style as girly yet edgy at the same time, I love wearing pink, frilly, lacey clothes, but simultaenously adore black, studded, leather jackets, I like to combine the two, but I generally just wear what I like!

I listen to Alternative Rock music such as The 1975, The Kooks, Bastille, Imagine Dragons, Kodaline, Arctic Monkeys, The Vamps, American Authors, The Temparance Movement, Biffy Clyro, Vampire Weekend, Coldplay, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, I could go on and on, but surely you 'get the jist'.

This blog will be mainly revolve around Fashion and Beauty as the name quite rightly states, but I am open to to post whatever your heart desires - so be sure to leave suggestions in the comments for possible posts!

I hope you enjoy reading my Blog, and be sure to leave a comment below letting me know what you think, and by following me on the links below!
